Sarah Parker Remond: feminist, abolitionist, medical practitioner

I haven't had as much time as I'd have liked to discuss the many fascinating links between abolitionism and feminism in the United States. The story of these intertwined movements can be explored in the life of Sarah Parker Remond, the African-American campaigner who was one of the first women to graduate from Bedford College in London, the first Higher Education College for women in England.  Her life is described in this blog post by Dr Nicola Phillips of Royal Holloway, University of London. It's a fascinating read.
